Funny, I thought there was already at least one site where anyone, JW or not, was welcome to come and post anything they wanted. Not only that but you have 230 posts over 5 days. Big woop. How many of them are from the people involved in running it? Not only that but if you really want to talk volume how about checking the number of post on this site. From what I can recall off the top of my head there's at least one other site out there (gee, I wonder which one?) that has around a half million posts. Your claims of being the first one to make some big magical site are like a fast food resteraunt's claims that its the first to offer soft drinks with its meals when its sitting between a McDonald's and Burger King. Not only that but you don't see Burger King employees walking into McDonald's going on about how smart they are because they have french fries and no one else does. That's dumb. Real dumb and I won't even start on how rude that is.

Get your facts straight before you start walking into an already well established site and go on about how great you are.

for me, it's actually the book of job, which happens to be one of my favourite books.

the way job steadfastly maintains his innocence, and questions god, as well as rebuffs the three comforters (who proffer arguments along the lines of mordern apologist, although in this book they are "bad guys" ) made him my hero of sorts throughout most of the book.

if most people today questioned god the way he did, they would probably be condemned for it.

That whole part with me getting killed is rather disturbing. I'd just rather put that whole bit behind me but all these idiot humans keep focusing on how I was put to death instead of focusing on all the other stuff I did in my life.

atlanta, georgia (cnn) -- a suburban atlanta school board thursday night voted unanimously to allow teachers to introduce students to different views about the origins of life.

the cobb county board of education, the state's second-largest school board, approved the policy change after limited discussion, calling it a "necessary element of providing a balanced education.

the board's vote drew cheers from some and expressions of dismay from others in the packed meeting room.

Jeez, one of you humans gets a good idea (that would of course be Darwin) and idiots who think they're acting on my behalf get all huffy about it. Then again, the fact that these people seem to have so much clout seems to go against the thought that its a survival of the fittest.

Then again, Darwinism does not mean evolution. Darwin calls for a slow, steady, rate of evolution while not taking into account the punctuated equilbriam approach that jives much better with large extenction events followed by the widespread flourishment of new species.

More things the JW kids are missing out on.

many of you already know that i started going to a new church 2 years ago.

it's very focused on kids and has lots of activities for them.. this year they started up an additional program for the grade school age - it's open to everyone from the public.

every wednesday night from 6:30-8:30pm they meet at the church for a sort of "camp" - they're learning some songs & dances to perform for the church, they do crafts, play bible games, and learn a new bible verse each week.. i decided to sign up as a helper.

Hey, look, I'm the son of god. I'm perfect and way more spiritual than all of you put together after all, I am Jesus Christ. Not only that but people had a lot shorter lives back when I was visiting you all. If you'll read that book about dad and me called the bible that I didn't get baptized until I was 30. The thought that teenagers somehow think they're more advanced than I was is rediculous.

Will my JW wife and son get into trouble for this?

some of you may remember my son's struggle with his beliefs about a year ago.

benjamin was brought up as a jw and was heavily involved, used extensively on the platform as a good jw role model.

however, about a year ago (when he was 13) he started to have doubts and went through a cycle of depression, even contemplating suicide.

While its true the elders can't really do anything like disfellowship your son or something like that still do not let him have any sort of back room meeting with or without his mother there. Those are almost always the equivilant of heavy brainwashing sessions and it really wouldn't be fair to your son to be up against 2 or 3 of those elders. Unless he's just totally fed up with those guy's BS he's still going to come out of anything like that in a much worse condition than he went into it.

Go with what Dakota Red said, go and make the shunning their problem. Any power or control they have is only what you give them and nothing more. Besides, they're the ones in the cult and have the problem, not you. Go and see the power you have to make them uncomfortable just by showing them how happy you are.

long story short, my appendix was about to pop (thank dad it didn't), i got it taken out, came home from the hospital a few days later, and then the area where the surgeon cut me open got very, very, very infected.

Hello everyone. Sorry I've been away for a few weeks. You may remember seeing a post from me talking about apendixes and then I disappeared for a while. Long story short, my appendix was about to pop (thank dad it didn't), I got it taken out, came home from the hospital a few days later, and then the area where the surgeon cut me open got very, very, very infected. I could go into more gorey details but some of you may be eating so I won't make you toss your cookies by telling you about it. I'm pretty much fine now, except for a case of strep throat which I'm getting over as well. Not only have I been laid low by illness but I also have had to be on the road for business purposes as well. Driving over 1,400 miles over 4 days (hey, I didn't just drive straight there and turn around) with a two year and strep throat old isn't fun. On the bright side, if everything goes the way I think it did I may be living on the beach in SC in a few months.

Also, I'd like to send a special thank you out to Bill Bowen and give an example of how great of a guy he really is. I had talked with Bill about possibly doing some work on his website not too long ago. He called while I was in the hospital and again a few days after I had gotten out but I was sleeping then. I emailed him telling him what was going on and that I did want to talk to him but because of health reasons wasn't up to doing much anything like that for a while. His amazing response? He offered for him and his wife to drive a couple of hours from Kentucky to come and help take care of me. Its not enough that he does the work to pay the bills for his family, all the Silent Lambs stuff, and support all the people who contact him, but on top of all that when he heard that I was sick he offered his services to come up and take care of someone who he had never even met in real life. For those of you who haven't been able to tell what kind of a guy he really is, there's proof that he is all that he seems and more. Thanks Bill and I'll be calling you a little later today to talk about your site.
